If only "Plan C" stood for Cyn's Plan...it doesn't. It means that Plan A AND Plan B didn't go "according to plan" and now we're just playing it by ear!
The first plan was that when we got back from Germany for the weekend trip (Monday), we'd start living in the house, (giving us 2 weeks in the flat in Windsor) even though there was some minor stuff to be finished.
When after my beautiful granite worktops [countertops] and paint job were in the kitchen, the "minor" stuff turned into 2 electrical problems that messed up my beautiful paint job in the kitchen, meant that the bathroom floor had to come up and the tiling needed to be delayed by nearly a week...we just kind of gave up.
So, after Germany (more on that trip later), we moved into the Trooper. A place that had been our favourite pub in Windsor. How fun to live in a pub!!! Turns out...not nearly as much fun as we'd anticipated.
Here's a picture of the Trooper:
A quaint little pub on a back street in Windsor. Great food and decent atmosphere from what we remembered.
See that giant yellow thing out front? That's a FIRE ENGINE!!! The Trooper caught on fire, so no cooked breakfast for those of us staying there. Fortunately, no major damage, just the kitchen well out of commission for a few days. We could still stay in our room--which was shabby, but serviceable. That lasted for about 4 days.
Plan B was that we'd just start staying in the house on Friday, with some minor stuff to be done. When the tiling delay turned that into two major rooms we need to use regularly (namely the kitchen and bath) aren't going to be ready for us...we turned to Plan C. Especially since Drama and Blondie were coming to stay for the weekend.
On Friday, we moved to the Travelodge in Central Windsor. This place, in a word is: BASIC. No artwork on the walls, no hairdryer in the room, no ice machine, pay-a-fee-for-early-checkin kind of place.
Cheaper than the Trooper for the weekend, when we needed a Family Room.
At this point, I can't even plan my way out of a paper bag. We've both run out of clean underwear and the only laundry facilities are in a Laundromat (coincidentally, near the Trooper). So guess where I spent my Sunday afternoon? That's right, Bubbles, the laundromat. I think it's been since college when I last went to a laundromat. Oh well...at least the Trooper is about 1/2 a block away, I could go in there to wait for my clothes to get clean and dry!
The upside to tonight is that we got to spend some time in Windsor with Sven and Banana and Banana's brother and cousin. We had a few drinks and went for dinner and laughed a lot. So, all is not lost...but I'm really, really, really over all this remodeling and nomadic living stuff.

The place is looking beautiful, so just keep that in mind. It is almost over!!!
Hmmmm...maybe someone is trying to tell you something.
